Karen
has been studying holistic healthcare for over 9 years. After a
life threatening illness she turned to health and wellness for the
"whole" body and pursued bodywork certifications. Karen
has her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Wheelock College.
She is a graduate of Massage Institute of New England with Certifications
in both Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage. She is a Certified Reiki
Master/Teacher practicing the Usui System. Karen is studying with
the Upledger Institute for Cranio Sacral Therapy and is currently
a teacher assistant.
Karen is a National Licensed Certified Massage Therapist treating
people with life threatening illnesses, chronic pain management,
injury recovery and overall wellness through therapeutic bodywork
in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports and Hot Stone massage as well as
CranioSacral/Somatic Emotional Release work and Reiki. She also
works with children diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, Neurological Dysfunctions
and learning disabilities. Karen has been a body worker for over
4 years.
Karen has worked for The LifeStyle Management Institute at the Beverly
Hospital Hunt Center in Danvers completing massage therapy and lectures
on stress management and holistic care. She has also worked at the
Lane Center for Natural Health, a wellness center focusing on Chinese
Medicine where she was a practitioner as well as a Reiki Teacher.
Karen has her own private practice, Harmony2 at The Common Crow
Natural Market in Gloucester. She also works in the market assisting
customers with choices in natural healthcare for their wellness.
Karen is co-chair of the Health and Wellness Holistic Committee
of the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce. Karen also serves on the Board
for Active Healing a non profit dedicated in education and training
for parents of brain injured children.
